RFinder - The Worldwide Repeater Directory!
We are pleased to announce the release of RFinder Worldwide Repeater Directory!
The RFinder (RepeaterFinder) Worldwide Repeater Directory is a steadily growing worldwide repeater database including IRLP and Echolink information. Access to the RFinder Worldwide Repeater Directory is available by subscription for $9.99/year and can be accessed by licensed users via the RFinder android app, our new browser interface, or through third-party applications.
As a gift for your support and help with making this entire project possible, if you have purchased the paid version of our RFinder android app, you are already entitled to free access to the worldwide repeater directory until December 31, 2012.
Find the RFinder app in the Android Market (coming soon for iPhone!)
The RFinder android app allows you to find repeaters all over the world based on your current location or a specified location. It allows sorting by distance, frequency, or Trustee callsign as well as filtering by band and radius in miles or kilometers. Repeater lists may viewed in an interactive map, or be exported in TravelPlus Export File format for import directly into your radio's memory. Other features include: Callsign lookup, up-to-date status link for IRLP nodes, send repeater updates and add/delete requests straight from the app.
The app only stores information for repeaters within approximately 80 miles (125 km) from your location on your handheld at any one time, saving you room on your device. It uses geolocation either via cell tower triangulation, GPS or manual location entry (so you can look up the repeaters you will use on vacation or business trips, etc.).
If we do not have your repeaters listed, please do not refund. Instead, please send us a national list we don't have and get a 75% refund (25% goes to fund youth programs in Amateur Radio)! It will be loaded within 48h, send to firstname.lastname@example.org
If anyone has lists of repeaters from their countries we would love to incorporate that into our database.
RFinder's Worldwide Repeater Directory now up to 136 countries! RFinder android app now exports data to radios.
Thanks to the generous repeater list donations (and data trades) with hams around the world we have increased our country list from 10 to 134 in the past two weeks!
Keep your enthusiasm, lists and ideas coming in! If you use our spreadsheet template it makes it quicker to load your data.pick up the file at http://downloads.rfinder.net/repeaters.xls
We have added a new function this week to export a view of data from your Android to your radio memory management program (ie MCP, HRD, etc.). RFinder sends the current view of repeaters to your email for writing to your radio. Imagine planning a trip to Sydney, AU.overriding your GPS location in RFinder (just speak to it.it knows places in the world, like "The Sphinx" or "McMurdo Station Antarctica" or "The Opera House in Sydney"), viewing the 2m and 440 repeaters in a 80km radius, and pressing a button. Easy as that, your radio memory file is in your email's inbox! Program your radio and you are done!
We are soon adding the capability to add NEW repeaters right from your phone! Just set RFinder to Automatic Updates in the Android Market and you will get this new function automatically!
